Christian loves feet

What's the difference between being mean and being honest?

The answer may seem obvious, but believe me, it's not.
I've been accused on several occasions for being tactless and that I'm apparently oblivious to other people's feelings.

Girl A: Don't you think I'll look good in these shades?
Me: No. I actually kinda think you'll look like some tropical insect with over sized eyes. Don't waste your money on those.

Ok, I admit, that may have not been the nicest way to put it, but should I have lied? Is it better to lie to a friend than to tell them the truth just so you can spare their feelings?

That last time I checked, the truth hurts, and anybody who doesn't know that by now needs to get with the programme.

And besides, my mother always told me true friends never lie and that it's always better to hear the truth from someone you love than from some obscure stranger.

So I repeat: What's the difference between being mean and being honest?

I'll never know the answer.

Anyhobo, I'm totally gaga over Madonna's song, Celebration. May I risk sounding corny by saying it is the bombdigity? Maybe I'm just bias coz I'm a fan. I'm loving her Christian Louboutins and Balmain dress.

I must admit, I was never quite a fan of these red-soled shoes until I saw Britney Spears rocking a pair earlier this year in her If U Seek Amy video

Here are a few famous feet wrapped in some Christian Louboutins.

The Dillian Mary Jane is my favourite, especially in red.

I also like its ruffle-less companion, the Lillian Mary Jane.

I reckon Blake Lively looks the best in these.

So I'm off to go and sleep!
Maths test tomorrow *cringe*
Au revoir and much love!

  2. I thought your remark on those shades was funny! I, too, had been told of being tactless. I said, I'm just being assertive. The thing is the girl who said that happens to be shy and soft-spoken so anything opposite about what she is, she will view as tactless. Anyway...
Seriously! I want to have those maryjanes! :)

  5. I need to go shoe shopping IMMEDIATELY!! LOL! Thanks for the inspiration. I can't afford Louboutins but I would love to find some similar heels...sigh.
And yes, friends should never lie. I always make it a point to tell my friend the truth or my most honest opinion in the nicest way. After all, I would be so embarrassed or sad if a friend let me walk around in something hideous rather than just being honest and tell me my outfit looks ridiculous. :)

  6. i would say the difference is that if you are being mean some one s feelings will get hurt .of course some people are more sensitive than others but i try to remeber as a rule to err on the side of caution. sometimes its totally unnecessary to make some one feel sad or bad .. jsut cause im super sensitive so i have extra precaution with others .. but imight be the wrong one to ask lo. i frequently get into these subjects with friends .. but hey .. if you are honest its good ..
i totally get where you are coming from with this shoe .. i think its difficult to pull off but i like them .. im a sucker for ruffles

  7. I love the Dillan Loubou's too! There is definitely a fine line between being mean and being brutally honest. Maybe the difference is just saving your opinion until others ask for it? Thanks for sharing. Lovely blog!

  9. I totally love that Balmain dress. It's to die for! And the Louboutins are so perfect in every way :)

I believe the difference between being mean and honest is very slight. I think the way you phrase your opinion can affect the difference but sometimes there's no way around it and you have to be nice to spare their feelings for later
